As the classic movie Father of the Bride so perfectly displays, there’s no place more personal to get married in than one’s childhood home. Some of the best weddings we’ve photographed have taken place in such a venue, Leah and Andrew’s being no exception.

At first sight of Leah’s Calistoga, California home, it was no wonder they chose this breathtaking area to celebrate their lifelong love. Surrounded by mountains and vineyards as far as the eye can see, the 6 acre property shows why Leah’s parents were smart to snag this Napa Valley gem many years ago. They built a home and a life at the very place their daughter would marry the man of her dreams. A special home hosting the most special of days.

Beautiful Leah transformed into a bride in the same bathroom and bedroom she called her own growing up. She was surrounded by family and the closest of friends, giddy to see their beloved Leah in her stunning white dress and flower crown. Handsome Andrew, already like family to Leah’s, had his brothers and best friends by his side for the day as well. A sweet first look for Leah and Andrew took place in the front yard with their favorite people in view. But no view compared to that of each other; a boy and a girl in love for years, now a bride and groom beginning life anew.

It was a hot summer day, but the beauty surrounding this wonderful wedding and the couple who planned it made it enjoyable for all despite the heat. Leah’s father and Andrew’s father each performed the ceremony, adding another personable touch to this very sweet day. A fun cocktail hour with no shortage of wines, of course, and personally brewed beers preceded an intimate long tabled-dinner in the middle of the vineyard Leah once called her backyard. Toasts were given that testified to the secure and adventurous love of the happy couple, and the support of the family and friends who love them so.

The night turned into dancing, more drinks and desserts, a party so lively some took a dip in the pool. Bright sparklers served as an appropriate finale to a wedding day to be remembered. For Leah, the bride, who said goodbye to home and hello to her forever home, Andrew, her groom. And for every spectator and witness of great love.

Thank you, Andrew and Leah, for choosing us to photograph your day. You were lovely and easy to work with and your images are proof. We wish you a lifetime of happiness, whether you open “Leah Theresa Riha’s Pizzeria” or not! Congratulations.
