Henry & Avery

If you’ve been following us for a while, you’re sure to recognize Henry and Avery.

Their wedding was back in February of 2020, a month before the pandemic, and remains one of our favorite weddings we’ve ever photographed. When they originally booked us, they also booked an engagement session. Since their wedding wasn’t too far away and they were busy with wedding planning, we weren’t able to do their engagement shoot before their wedding date. 

About a year after their wedding, Avery texted us and said she totally understood if we weren’t able to, but would we be open to “trading” their engagement session for a one-year anniversary session? To Avery this request might have felt like a favor, but to us it was a privilege. Getting to photograph one of our favorite couples ever in Malibu? Yes please.

In typical Henry and Avery fashion, the time spent taking photos was pure magic. Their natural chemistry mixed with their easygoing personalities was the perfect combination for incredible photos (also doesn’t hurt that they’re gorgeous). We began the shoot in the Malibu hills then made our way over to the majestic rocky coast. As if that wasn’t enough, Henry and Avery asked if they should grab their surfboards from their car to end with some sunset lifestyle photos. The answer to that question will always be YES.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, but getting to photograph couples like Henry and Avery in places like Malibu is what makes us feel like we have the best job in the world. Gorgeous locations, perfect light all around, good people madly in love, photographs that last forever. We are so grateful.
